Galva police report for Dec. 15-21

Dec. 15:
Police assisted Ameren with an aggressive dog after a possible natural gas leak was detected in the 00 block of NE 1st Avenue.

Police responded to a report of a disabled vehicle partially blocking Bonham Road near 1900 East. The owner was contacted, and the car was removed so that snowplows could clean the roadway.

Police responded to a domestic verbal disturbance and to remove an unwanted subject in the 600 block of NW 7th Street.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang up complaint in the 200 block of South Exchange Street. It was determined to be a misdial.

Police responded to a complaint about a loose cat inside a building in the 600 block of NW 7th Street. The officer advised the complainant to contact the landlord, as it wasn’t a police issue.

Police responded to a verbal domestic disturbance in the 200 block of SW 4th Street.

Dec. 16:

Samuel Abdelkoui, 64, Galva, was arrested on a Henry County warrant for failure to appear on the charge of driving while license suspended following a traffic stop in the 500 block of West Division Street. He was also charged with driving without a valid driver’s license. The warrant was a catch-and-release. He was released with the required court dates for both offenses.

Police conducted a welfare check following a family member’s report of a domestic disturbance in the 100 block of NW 7th Avenue. The complaint was unfounded.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang up complaint in the 100 block of SW 6th Street. It was determined to be a misdial.

Dec. 17:

Terry Yelm, 33, Kewanee, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle following a traffic stop in the 900 block of West Division Street. He was released with a required court date.

Allison Gillum, 31, Galva, was cited for operating a vehicle when her driver’s license was cancelled following a traffic stop in the 00 block of NE 2nd Street. She was released with a required court date.

A citizen was assisted in the 00 block of SW 2nd Street.

Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 500 block of NW 5th Avenue.

Police responded to a runaway juvenile complaint in the 200 block of NW 2nd Avenue. The youth returned home a short time later.

Dec. 18:

A citizen was assisted in the 200 block of SW 6th Street.

Police responded to a child custody dispute in the 200 block of NW 2nd Street. The child was located and returned home.

Police responded again to a child custody dispute in the 200 block of NW 2nd Street.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 open line complaint in the 500 block of Swank Street. It was determined to be a misdial.

Dec. 19:

Police responded to a loud noise complaint in the 300 block of SW 4th Avenue. The officer was not able to locate the source of the noise.

Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 400 block of SW 4th Ave for a loose dog complaint. The officer was not able to locate the animal.

Dec. 20:

Police met with a resident at the Galva Police Department to assist a citizen with questions.

A welfare check was conducted at a residence on SW 4th Street. The subjects were fine.

Brandi York, 30, Galva, was stopped in the 600 block of North Center Avenue and cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle, following a report of a reckless driver traveling southbound towards Galva. She was released with a required court date.

Police responded to a trespassing complaint in the 00 block of SW 4th Street for a trespassing complaint.

Police responded to a loud music complaint in the 300 block of SE 1st Avenue. The subjects agreed to turn down the noise.

Jordan Richards, 23, Cambridge, was issued a citation for speeding in the 800 block of North Center Avenue.

Dec. 21:

Police responded to a civil property dispute in the 300 block of SW 3rd Street.

A citizen was assisted in the 600 block of NE 2nd Street.

Police conducted a welfare check at a residence on NE 5th Street. The subject was fine.

Michael Davis, 41, Cambridge, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance. He was released with a required court date.

Jacob Conrad, 18, Galva, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1000 block of North Center Avenue.

Thomas Arena, 51, Wheaton, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1000 block of North Center Avenue.
