Police responded to a complaint involving two loose dogs that were caught in a fence in the 400 block of Swank Street. A neighbor recognized the dogs and returned them to their residence prior to the police arriving.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 open line in the 00 block of SW 8th Avenue. The officer located a subject doing yard work who had accidentally pocket dialed.
Isaiah Trinkle, 19, Bristol, Tenn., was located and issued an administrative warning ticket (AWT) for soliciting without a permit after police responded to a solicitation complaint and learned that no permits had been issued recently in the 300 block of SW 4th Street.
Police responded to a 9-1-1 open line in the 1000 block of North Center Avenue. The officer could not locate anyone needing assistance.
Police responded to a nuisance cat complaint in the 100 block of NW 3rd Avenue.
Police, along with the fire department, were dispatched to a vehicle possibly on fire several miles west of town.
Police were called to watch for a motorcycle whose driver was reportedly refusing to stop for a Henry County Deputy at the east edge of town. The officer was unable to locate it.
Erik Roesner, 23, Galva, was issued a citation for speeding in the 800 block of North Center Avenue.
April 21:
Police met with a complainant at the Galva Police Department.
Police responded to a request to remove an unwanted subject in the 300 block of SW 3rd Street. It was determined that the suspect lives at the residence and the complainant would need to follow the eviction process to remove them.
Police responded to a criminal damage to property complaint and a verbal disturbance in the 300 block of SW 3rd Street.
Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 800 block of West Division Street. The owner was able to capture the animal and take it back home.
While patrolling, police observed a subject in the 400 block of SW 4th Avenue who had previously been banned from the property. The officer contacted the property owner, who advised that they had given the subject permission to gather items there.
Police responded to a verbal disturbance between roommates in the 300 block of SW 3rd Street.
April 22:
Police helped the ambulance with a lift assist at a residence on East Division Street.
Police responded to a harassment complaint in the 00 block of Wallace Street.
Police conducted a welfare check at a residence on SW 3rd Avenue. The subject was fine.
Police responded to a physical disturbance complaint in the 600 block of NE 1st Avenue.
Police responded to a complaint concerning an injured cat in the 400 block of NE 2nd Avenue.
April 23:
Police updated a sex offender’s registration at the Galva Police Department. A copy was emailed to Henry County for the LEADS entry.
John Jaco, 66, Galva, was arrested for violation of an order of protection after police were called to the 100 block of NW 6th Avenue. He was transported to the Henry County Jail.
Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle near the old wooden viaduct on Hayes Road west of town. The officer located some juveniles and told them to disperse.
Police responded to a dog bite complaint in the 200 block of SW 3rd Street. A delivery driver suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment.
April 24:
Police responded to a wild animal complaint involving foxes running around in the 700 block of SE 1st Street. The officer did not locate any of the animals.
Police responded to a complaint of criminal damage to property involving a broken fence and gate in the 600 block of South Center Avenue.
Police assisted a citizen with a utilities complaint in the 1100 block of NW 5th Avenue.
Jean Nimrick, 53, Galva, was issued a citation for disobeying a stop sign in the 200 block of SE 5th Avenue.
April 25:
Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 700 block of NW 1st Avenue. The animal was retrieved by its owner.
Police responded to a report of a reckless driver coming towards Galva from the west edge of town. The officer was unable to locate the driver.
April 26:
Police responded to a complaint involving a cat that had run away from a child in the 200 block of NW 7th Avenue. The officer was unable to locate the cat.
Police conducted a low speed vehicle inspection in the 400 block of NW 1st Street.
Police responded to a complaint of out of control juveniles in the 200 block of NE 2nd Street.
Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang up in the 300 block of SE 3rd Street. It was determined to have been caused by a child playing with a phone.
