Learn how to weave a beautiful Scandinavian star at the Galva Arts Council (GAC) on Saturday, Sept. 5.
Taught by well-known artist Tom Stagg, the class will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the Arts Council’s building located at 128 Exchange St.
Upon his retirement from the corporate world, Stagg became deeply involved with libraries, providing special programming for libraries and schools throughout central Illinois. He was recently appointed to the Illinois State Library Advisory Committee.
With a Master of Library and Information Science degree, he will soon add an art degree to his portfolio. In addition to weaving, Stagg teaches classes in watercolor, acrylic, quilling and oil pastels.
Pre-registration is required, and the fee is $25, which includes all materials. Registration forms can be obtained by emailing galvaarts@gmail.com.
Sponsors for the program are the Illinois Arts Council, Country Financial, Sutton and Associates Realty and the State Bank of Toulon.
Information about all programs available through the Galva Arts Council can be found on its Facebook page or website.
