Friends of the Library to host annual meeting and 150th anniversary program

By The Kewanee Voice    October 8, 2025

The Friends of the Library will hold its annual meeting in the Kewanee Public Library District Community Room on Oct. 13 from 7-8 p.m.  and the public is invited to attend.

In celebration of 150 years of the Kewanee Public Library, a special program entitled “The People and the Places” will be presented by Mike DeWalt and Steve Morrison. The program will explore the history of Kewanee library buildings and locations.

The Friends of the Library is a volunteer group whose purpose is to encourage and support a closer relationship between the library and community. Its goal is to support the library through fundraising, encouraging gifts, and raising public awareness of the resources and services that the library provides.

The board meets on the second Monday of each month and their meetings are open to the public.
