Francis Park fest helps local organizations

By The Kewanee Voice    July 13, 2023

The newly-revived Francis Park festival drew large crowds, in large part due to two major attractions: The car show and a display of vintage tractors.

John Wirth of the Street Cruisers Car Club, which organized the car show, said the show had 157 entries. Many festival-goers walked through the southeast corner of the park to take a look at vehicles from as far back as 1930.

And local farmers participated once again in the tractor show. They began in Kewanee and created a tractor parade to the park.

There were 50 entries in the tractor show.

This week, the organizers of both shows presented checks from the proceeds of the show to the Henry County Humane Society, Honor Flight of the Quad Cities and Hog Capital Wildlife Rescue.
