Drought leads agency to cancel wreath sales

Abilities Plus announced that its workshop clients will not be selling Christmas wreaths this holiday season due to an unforeseen supply shortage from their wreath supplier.

This shortage stems from the drought that impacted this year’s evergreen crop, significantly reducing availability.

“While we are disappointed to pause this much-loved holiday tradition, we understand that the drought has made it challenging for our supplier to meet demand,” said Kim Walker, executive director of Abilities Plus. “We deeply appreciate our community’s ongoing support and understanding, and we look forward to bringing the wreaths back next year.”

The Christmas wreath sale has been a cherished part of Abilities Plus’s annual holiday activities, providing meaningful work opportunities for workshop clients and festive holiday décor for local residents.

“Despite this temporary setback, Abilities Plus remains committed to supporting its clients and the community through other initiatives this holiday season with our upcoming Holiday Open House on Dec. 7,” according to a news release from Abilities Plus.
