
A man was jailed Sunday following a high-speed chase with a Henry County Sheriff’s deputy near Kewanee.
Ryan D. Hagerty, 23, was charged with driving under the influence, criminal speeding, aggravated fleeing and eluding a police officer, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, disobeying a stop sign and failure to signal, according to the sheriff’s office Facebook page.
Hagerty’s address was not included in the posting.

Near midnight Sunday near Route 34 south of Kewanee, a patrol sergeant observed a vehicle traveling at an “extremely high rate of speed (107 mph)” and attempted to stop the vehicle.
The driver fled, resulting in a pursuit that ended when the vehicle crashed at the intersection of the Page Street Extension and the Galva-Atkinson Blacktop.
Two occupants were taken into custody. A passenger in the vehicle was released without being charged.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident. There were no injuries or reported property damage.
Hagerty was transported to the Henry County Jail, where he will await court proceedings.
