
The Kewanee Public Library, located at 102 S. Tremont St., is hosting a Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration in honor of the Baptist minister and social activist who led the civil rights movement in the United States from the mid-1950s throughout most of the 1960s.
The annual event is sponsored by AmeriCorp volunteers and will be held on Monday, Jan. 15 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Children of all ages are invited to attend, but children under 5 should be accompanied by an adult.
The celebration will include activities, books, games, and refreshments will be served. Kids will be able to learn more about MLK Jr. and his values of courage, truth and justice.
