Students and faculty at Black Hawk College East Campus got a sweet start to their October morning thanks to P.E.O. Chapter BR Sisters, who hosted a free donut and apple cider giveaway on campus.

More than 50 visitors stopped by the table, where they not only grabbed a seasonal snack but also learned about scholarship opportunities and membership with the organization.

Volunteers Megan Sloan, Katie Rushing Anderson, Sharon Murray, Nancy Anderson and Julie Strandberg helped serve treats and share information.

The event was part of Chapter BR Sisters’ ongoing efforts to connect with the campus community in fun and meaningful ways. Next up: a free “Walking Tacos” event planned for November.
