Cà d’Zan House Concerts recently announced they will be holding a special evening of world-class music on Sunday, Sept. 28, featuring the Brazilian instrumental duo Canta, Violino! -with violinist Andrew Finn Magill and guitarist Edinho Gerber -alongside acclaimed Americana singer-songwriter Tyler Sjöström.

The evening begins with a community potluck and social hour from 6 –7 p.m., followed by the concert at 7 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. A suggested donation of $20–30 helps support the artists, and as always, this is an all-ages show.
As a special pre-show event, Andrew Finn Magill will lead an Irish Fiddle Workshop from 3-4 p.m. Participants will learn the basics of Irish fiddle technique through a simple tune, covering bowing, ornamentation, rhythm, and tone. Cost for the workshop is $20; registration is available by sending payment via PayPal to finnmagill@gmail.com.

Canta, Violino! is an instrumental duo blending Brazilian choro and samba – two of the most dynamic and influential genres in Brazilian music. The project unites award-winning jazz violinist Andrew Finn Magill, whose work has been featured on NPR, PBS, and TEDx, with 7-string guitar master Edinho Gerber, a seasoned performer raised between the U.S. and Brazil. Together, they craft a sound that is as virtuosic as it is infectious, bridging cultures and traditions with dazzling musicianship.

Magill, a Fulbright fellow and international touring artist, has released multiple albums on Ropeadope Records and earned praise from legendary Brazilian percussionist Airto Moreira -Miles Davis, Chick Corea: He can fool you into thinking he is from Brazil! Gerber, meanwhile, has carved out a career straddling the worlds of Brazilian choro, samba, jazz, and blues, performing worldwide with ensembles such as Duo Violão and collaborating with artists like Ben Lamar Gay.

Tyler Sjöström -pronounced show-strum is a powerhouse singer-songwriter that has captivated audiences across the U.S. and Europe. Emerging from the Chicago music scene, he has performed at SXSW, Lollapalooza, Smiling Acres Fest, and C2C Berlin. His music has also been featured on television, including commercials for Aflac and the Euro 2024 Futbol Championship.

Now based in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, Tyler continues to tour and record, drawing listeners in with songs full of grit, heart, and honesty. His ability to connect deeply with audiences has made him one of the most compelling rising voices in Americana and folk today.

Come for an evening of international rhythms and soul-stirring songwriting in the intimate, welcoming setting of Cà d’Zan House Concerts.
