On Thursday, Aug. 6, Oakley reeled in a giant catfish at Windmont Park — a catch that may mark the second time this year such a fish has been landed there.
In May, Jonathan Hallman snagged a flathead catfish that weighed over 40 pounds. His video of the ginormous fish went viral on TikTok.
After memorializing the catch, he let the fish go for someone else to catch. Last week, maybe someone did.

Weighing nearly 44 pounds, the catfish took several young anglers working together to bring it in. The group began fishing around 8:30 a.m., and by noon, Oakley’s line hooked the monster catch.
Before the big moment, the boys had already caught six regular-sized bass, but the oversized catfish quickly became the highlight of their day. Even after landing their prize, they kept fishing until evening, enjoying their time at the fishing hole.
