Boilers falter as Sherrard claims win

The Kewanee Boilermakers were in action against the Sherrard Tigers in Brockman Gym on Tuesday night and lost by a score of 52-41.

The Boilers fought hard, jumping ahead in points during the final few moments of the first quarter before eventually losing that lead and taking a 9-8 deficit heading into the second quarter.

Unfortunately, that was the only time Kewanee was in contention for the lead, as Sherrard got out to a 10-point lead in the second quarter, which they then held for the remainder of the contest.

The Riveters were also in action and were victorious by a score of 71-51.The team was led by sophomore Dayvon Robinson with 22 points and freshman Chris Crowe with 14.

The Boilermakers will be back in action on Friday night, Feb.14, hosting Sterling Newman Central Catholic.
