
Kewanee High School’s soccer team dropped its season opener 4-1 to Peoria Limestone Monday.
“The game was very difficult, knowing what kind of team Limestone is, but the Boilermakers put up a good fight,” said Coach Jesus Bermudez.
The first half was “a very good half for Kewanee,” the coach said. The Boilers scored at minute 23 on an “awesome” kick by Isidro Martinez on a Michael Bermudez assist, the coach said.
But in the second half, Limestone made some adjustments and scored four times to take the victory.
