Boiler teams win three over Erie-Prophetstown

Kewanee High School’s boys basketball team got an overtime win Friday over Erie-Prophetstown.

The Boilermakers won 53-47.

“It was a total team effort tonight,” Coach Dayton Ince said. “We found a way to get it done down the stretch.”

Chris Crowe led the Boilers with 11 points. Griff Hicks added 10, and Jesus Martinez had eight.

The Riveters also were victorious, winning 39-29. They were led by Jaxon DeReu with eight points. Damareon Thomas and Alex Ramos each had seven.

And the freshman team got a two-point victory over E-P, 55-53.

Dane VanDeVelde led with 15 points and three players had eight.

The varsity Boilermakers’ next game will be against Galva Monday at 8:30 p.m. in the Colmone Classic in Spring Valley.
