Boiler Girls pick up two wins

The Kewanee High School Boiler Girls were in action Wednesday night hosting the Ridgewood Spartans and were victorious by a score of 47-30. 

The team got off to a fast start, taking a 15-9 lead into the second quarter, and Ridgewood failed to catch up to the Boiler Girls for the rest of the night.

Top scorers were:

Mya Dearing – 15

Damaris Diaz – 14

Tejhiana Amos – 12

Kieryn Abernathy on the dribble.

The JV Boiler Girls were also victorious on Wednesday night, winning 28-18. The team was led by sophomore Addison Yepsen with 10 points and moved to 11-1 on the year.

Tejhiana Amos was Kewanee’s leading scorer against Mendota.

On Thursday night the Boiler Girls hosted Mendota and picked up a 52-28 win. Tejhiana Amos led Kewanee with 11 points.

Kewanee has now won four games in a row and are 12-7 on the year. They will return to Brockman Gym on Saturday afternoon hosting St. Bede Bruins, with the tipoff at 12:30 p.m.
