Boiler Girls get big shutout win

Remy Hicks drove in five runs on two hits to lead the Kewanee Boiler Girls past Hall 15-0 on Thursday.

Hicks doubled in the second inning, scoring three runs and singled in the fifth inning, scoring two.

A single by Rylee Blades put Kewanee on the board in the top of the first.

Kewanee scored seven runs on seven hits in the top of the second inning. Hicks doubled, scoring three runs, Macee Pickering doubled and Kieryn Abernathy, Addy Yepsen and Audrey Clucas all singled, knocking in runs on each hit.

Kewanee scored seven runs on six hits in the top of the fifth inning. An error scored one run, Dani Jo Currier singled, scoring one run, Hicks singled, scoring two runs, Abernathy singled, scoring one run and Yepsen singled, scoring two runs.

Kalleigh Gale began the game for the Boiler Girls. She allowed three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out eight and walking one.

Kewanee collected 15 hits in the game. Hicks, Abernathy, Yepsen, Lyric Duytschaver, Pickering, Clucas, and Currier each contributed two hits. 

The win moves the Boiler Girls to 9-4 and now 4-0 in conference play. Next up is a game at Orion on Friday where Remy Hicks drove in five runs on two hits to lead the Kewanee Boiler Girls past Hall 15-0 on Thursday.
