Americana artists Zach Pietrini and Marky Hladish set for May 9 Bishop Hill show

By The Kewanee Voice    May 7, 2026

Crossroads Cultural Connections is set to present an evening of heartfelt songwriting with a live performance with Zach Pietrini and Marky Hladish on Saturday, May 9 at Bishop Hill Creative Commons.

Pietrini has emerged as a standout voice in the modern Americana landscape, blending Midwestern sensibilities with timeless songwriting. Often described as the musical equivalent of a well-worn denim jacket, Pietrini’s songs are rooted in honesty, exploring themes of nostalgia, regret, and everyday life with a relatable, contemporary perspective.

Drawing inspiration from artists like Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen, Pietrini brings a fresh energy to American roots music while honoring its traditions. His dynamic live performances strike a balance between intimate and high-energy, earning him recognition as Best Live Act in Milwaukee and a reputation as a compelling performer across the Midwest and beyond.

Joining Pietrini for the evening is Marky Hladish, a seasoned musician and former member of the Rockford-based band The Felix Culpa. Hladish brings his own distinctive voice and experience to the stage, adding depth and contrast to an already memorable lineup.

Presented by Crossroads Cultural Connections, this concert continues the organization’s mission of bringing meaningful, high-quality live music experiences to Henry County and surrounding communities.

The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with an optional potluck dinner, offering guests a chance to gather and connect before the performance. Attendees are welcome to bring a dish to share if they wish to participate. The concert will begin at 7 p.m.

The event is open to all ages, with a suggested donation of $20–$30, all of which goes directly to the performers, supporting artists and sustaining live music.
