The Kewanee freshman volleyball team was the winner of the Silver bracket Saturday at the Sterling Freshmen Tournament.
In pool play, the Boiler Girls had wins over Rockford (Jefferson) and Dixon, and split with Sterling. In the semifinal, they defeated Rock Island 25-22, 25-18.
In the championship match, they outlasted Rock Falls in an exciting 3-game showdown (30-28, 24-26, 15-11).
The Boilers Girls went 4-0-1 on the day.
