On Monday, the Annawan-Wethersfield Titans split a doubleheader with the Stark County Rebels in a doubleheader, winning 4-1 and losing 14-2.
In game one, the Titans defeated the Rebels after a solid performance from Lauren Davis.
Davis, the opening pitcher, struck out 11 batters. Davis gave up five hits and had one run over seven innings while walking two.
The Rebels were the first to get on the board in the first when one run scored on another play.
At the bottom of the fourth, the Titans took the lead after Aleigha Witte singled up the middle, the Rebels committed an error and Ava Jackson singled to center field, each scoring one run.
The second game was a different outcome, with the Rebels coming out victorious over the Titans.
The Rebels opened the scoring at the top of the first thanks to two errors. The Rebels first got on the board when an error scored one run.
A sacrifice bunt by Taylor Price and a single by Addy Westphal of Stark County helped the Rebels extend their early lead in the third.
The Rebels scored six runs on two hits in the top of the fourth inning.
Karsyn Rico, Elynn Manuel, and Davis each collected two hits for the Titans. Manuel and Davis were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for the Titans.
Despite hard efforts and positive attitudes, the Titans took a 14-2 loss to the Rebels.
