Wethersfield Jr./Sr. High School kicked off its annual FFA Week celebration on Monday, Feb. 23. Activities are planned through Friday, Feb. 27.
The celebration began with an 11:30 a.m. dismissal and an FFA assembly on Friday, Feb. 20 in the school gymnasium. During the assembly, high school students were selected at random to participate in FFA-themed games and challenges, including games like “Blue Milk Chugging” and “Horse Racing,” aimed at building school spirit ahead of the week’s events.
The event was organized by Kate Rashid and the Wethersfield FFA committee.
This week, students and staff are encouraged to participate in themed dress-up days:
Monday: John Deere vs. Case IH Day (red or green)
Tuesday: “Here by the Flag” Day (red, white and blue)
Wednesday: “Hold Your Horses” Day (Western wear)
Thursday: Blend In Day (camouflage)
Friday: Blue and Gold Day (blue, gold or FFA shirt)

The dress-up days are designed to recognize the history of FFA and highlight the impact of agricultural education and vocational careers on local communities.

Additional activities throughout the week will include scavenger hunts and other competitions, giving students opportunities to win prizes while celebrating FFA and agricultural education as a whole.
