Enchanted Pumpkin Festival puts out a call for vendors

By Susan DeVilder    May 18, 2023

It’s not yet summer, but already the committee for Kewanee’s Enchanted Pumpkin Festival is making plans. Vendors are currently being sought for the October event.

“Last year, we had 60 vendors,” said committee member Amber Patch-Troxell. “If we get any more, we may need to look into extending it another block.”

Extending the festival would require getting permission from city officials, but Patch-Troxell doesn’t see any problem with that. It’s only May and already 34 vendors who participated last year have signed up to return.

Various vendors are being sought including crafters, boutiques, direct sales and food vendors.

“We would like to get more food trucks,” she said. “You can never have too many food vendors.”

The hours for the downtown festival are also being extended. Last year, the vendors were open from 10 am to 3 pm, and “trunk or treat” kicked off at 3 pm. The vendors were closed by that time and weren’t able to take advantage of the traffic from the candy event, she said.
For that reason, the pumpkin festival’s vendor hours will be extended to 5 pm.

This year is just the second year for the annual event and the date is set on Saturday, Oct. 21, from 10 am to 5 pm. Anyone interested in signing up for a vendor booth can contact Patch-Troxell at (309) 851-0430, Jeanna Moore, or Tiffany Bockewitz at the Blissful Branch Boutique.
