For 33 years, Steve Johnson of Galva has served on the Abilities Plus board of directors. On June 24, Abilities Plus wished him well on his retirement.
Johnson served for several years as board president and most recently, vice president. In addition to his service on the board, Johnson assisted in starting the Abilities Plus Annual Golf Outing over three decades ago and has volunteered at the event every year since it began.
Johnson said that when he was asked to serve on the Abilities Plus board, he knew it would be a great opportunity to become involved and work with an outstanding agency. Johnson said he believes in the mission of Abilities Plus and feels strongly about the need for the agency in the area.
Johnson said he is happy to have served for an agency that provides such meaningful and important life-fulfilling services for those in need, and said the best part of serving on the board was the opportunity to know and work with many dedicated board members, directors and staff who are all important to helping the clients the agency serves.
In a news release, Abilities Plus wrote that they are “grateful for the many years of dedicated service to the agency.”
