If winter has you wishing for something sleek, shiny and full of personality, the Henry County Humane Society has just the model for you. Meet Lamborghini — or Lambi, as staff and volunteers affectionately call him.
Much like the luxury car he’s named after, Lambi has a standout design. His silky black coat is accented with white markings that give him what looks like a permanent, slightly crooked smile. The expression fits him well. He’s gentle, sweet and a little shy when meeting new people, but once he warms up, he’s all charm.
Lambi arrived at the shelter in October after law enforcement officers found him lying in the road. He had been hit by a car and was taken to a veterinarian for treatment. His injuries were not severe, but he did suffer a significant concussion. After a few days of care, he came to the shelter to rest and recover. He has since healed and is ready for a fresh start.
Not quite a year old and weighing just 6½ pounds, Lambi is fully vetted-neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and treated for fleas and worms. He adores other cats and eagerly paws at his kennel door to join them for playtime. His favorite toy is a feathered mouse, and he’s known to get a few extra treats from staff who can’t resist his sweet nature. His experience with dogs is unknown.
For anyone considering a quiet, semi‑shy companion with a lovable streak, Lambi may be the perfect fit. The shelter also offers home visits for those who want to “test drive” him before adopting.
Lamborghini’s adoption fee is $50. To meet him, contact the Henry County Humane Society of Kewanee at 309-852-0040 during business hours, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. He’s ready to trade in shelter life for a forever home.
