
March 16:
While patrolling, police located a motorist stuck in the roadway near the intersection of NW 2nd Avenue and Main Street. The officer was able to assist in getting the vehicle moving again.
Police assisted the ambulance with a medical emergency on NW 7th Avenue.
Police responded to a complaint of a vehicle in the ditch on the east edge of town. The vehicle was checked and marked. It was removed by a tow truck later in the day.
Police assisted a motorist stuck in the roadway in the 1000 block of West Division Street. The officer was not strong enough to push the vehicle. Tarleton’s wrecker was able to pull it out of the roadway.
Police checked on a vehicle stuck in the ditch on the Galva-Atkinson blacktop north of town. The officer was able to transport the subjects to a local motel for lodging.
Police responded to a 9-1-1 in the 200 block of NW 7th Avenue. Upon arrival, the officer determined it was a theft complaint amongst family members.
March 17:
Police responded to a wild animal complaint involving a possum in the roadway in the 200 block of NE 2nd Street. The complainant was concerned that a vehicle might strike it. A neighbor assisted the officer in loading the animal into the car, where it was transported to rural Galva and released.
Police responded to a verbal disturbance in the 400 block of North Center Avenue. The complainant went to a family member’s house to stay for a while.
Police responded to a medical pendant activation at a residence on SW 4th Street. The officer located a subject suffering from a panic attack. Stark County Medic was contacted for
evaluation.
March 18:
Police responded to a physical domestic disturbance between a mother and daughter in the 200 block of NE 2nd Street.
While patrolling, police located a vehicle in the 400 block of South Center Avenue with no taillights. The subject was able to use their hazard lights to remove the vehicle from the flow of traffic.
March 19:
Police responded to a loud noise complaint in the 00 block of SW 4th Street.
Police responded to a disabled vehicle blocking the roadway in the 100 block of SE 2nd Street. The officer directed traffic until a tow truck could remove it.
Police responded to a 9-1-1 open line in the 200 block of SW 7th Street. It was determined to be an accidental misdial.
Karissa Wilson, 37, Galva, was issued an administrative warning ticket (AWT) for allowing a dog to run at large after police responded to a complaint of a dog bite to a human in the 300 block of SE 6th Street.
Police assisted a citizen in the 100 block of SE 4th Street.
March 20:
Police responded to a two-vehicle accident with damage-only in the 500 block of SE 2nd Street.
Police responded to a complaint of trash dumping in the 200 block of South Exchange Street.
Police responded to a harassment complaint involving a group of juveniles yelling at other youth in Wiley Park.
Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 00 block of SE 2nd Street.
Police responded to a wild animal complaint involving a sick skunk in the 500 block of SW 1st Avenue. The Galva city trapper set several live traps to try to capture it.
Police responded to a suspicious person complaint in the 00 block of SW 4th Street.
March 21:
Police assisted Henry County with a burglary complaint west of Galva.
Police responded to a report of a person being injured from falling from an electric (E-bike) in the 1000 block of North Center Avenue. Stark County Medic also responded.
Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 600 block of SW 2nd Avenue. The officer assisted the animal owners with capturing the dog.
Police responded to a child custody dispute in the 900 block of SE 2nd Street.
Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 300 block of Swank Street. The dog was taken to the pound and later returned to its owner.
Police responded to a traffic complaint in the 300 block of Commercial Street. An unoccupied vehicle was located, but the driver wasn’t found until later in the evening.
Police responded to a civil property dispute in the 300 block of SW 2nd Avenue.
Police met with a resident at the Galva Police Department to file a report involving theft and an internet scam after the complainant realized they were missing funds from a bank account.
Police responded to a loud noise complaint in the 500 block of SW 3rd Street. The officer did not locate anyone making noise.
March 22:
Police recovered a debit card that had been left at the business in the 00 block of SW 2nd Street.
Amber Stocker, 39, Peoria Heights, was issued a citation for having an expired driver’s license following a traffic stop in the 1000 block of Center Avenue. She was released with a required court date.
Police watched for a reckless driver at the east edge of town who was reportedly heading towards Galva. The suspect vehicle was located; however, no traffic violations were noted to justify a traffic stop.
Police were asked by the Kewanee Police Department to watch for a subject who had damaged property in their city before possibly coming towards Galva. The subject was not located.
