A fire Tuesday morning in the auto shop area at Black Hawk College East Campus damaged the building and destroyed a pickup truck that had been inside.

A college spokeswoman said no one was injured, and added, “Students and employees are safe.”

The East Campus was closed for the day. “The college anticipates resuming classes and activities tomorrow,” the spokeswoman said.

The fire damaged the interior of the auto shop. An overhead door to the shop was destroyed; no further details on the extent of the damage were available at midmorning Tuesday.
