Boiler Girls host quadrangular track meet

Jendayia  Crowe and Damaris Diaz each recorded first-place finishes Tuesday as the Kewanee High School girls track team hosted a quadrangular meet.

The Boiler Girls competed against Sherrard, Fulton and Rock Falls.

Crowe finished first in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 49.91 seconds. Her time of 17.72 seconds was good for second place in the 100-meter hurdles.

Diaz threw for 9.81 meters to take home first-place honors in the shot put.

Team scores were: Sherrard 106, Fulton 109, Rock Falls 37 and Kewanee 27.

400 meters: Olivia Mitchell fourth, 1:21.63

800 meters: Thea Solbakken fourth, 2:58.96

1,600 meters: Esmerelda Martinez fifth, 6:49.67; Katy Carton seventh, 7:24.75; Aymar Mosso eighth, 7:34.55

3,200 meters: Tiffany Helton fifth, 18.40.38

100 meter hurdles: Jandayia Crowe second, :17.72; Mekya Powe ninth, :22.91

300 meter hurdles: Jendayia Crowe first, :49.01

4×100 relay: Kewanee (Jessa Read, Brooklyn Thoms, Haley Smither, Kerby German) sixth, 1:50.7

4×400 relay: Kewanee (Jendayia Crowe, Olivia Ralston, Mekya Powe, Thea Solbakken) third, 4:40.6
