The Wethersfield volleyball team hosted Knoxville in a key conference matchup Wednesday night. Heading into the match, the Lady Geese were tied with Annawan at 9-1 atop the Lincoln Trail Conference.
Wethersfield came up short, losing 21-25, 18-25, while Annawan defeated Abingdon-Avon to claim the conference title with a record of 10-1.
The Lady Geese are now 23-6-1 on the season and finish 9-2 in the LTC. Monmouth (United) also finished 9-2 and are 21-12 overall. The Blue Bullets are 20-10-2 and 7-4 in the conference.
The Wethersfield sophomore team beat Knoxville 25-12, 25-8 to complete the clean of the LTC going 11-0.
