The Kewanee Central eighth-grade girls are Prairieland Conference Champions. After earning runner-up last year as seventh graders, they were on a mission this season, Coach Dede Grice said.
“This is one of the most hardworking, dedicated group of track athletes I have ever coached,” Grice said. “These girls are focused, determined, and work and think like a team.”
The team will compete Saturday in 3A sectionals at Orion, where several are hopeful to earn a spot to compete at the IESA State Track and Field Championship.
