TriCo Equestrian Center offers “Trick or Treat” trail ride

The TriCo Equestrian Center, located at 7341 E. 2350th St. in Kewanee, will once again be offering their Halloween “Spooktacular Trail Ride.” The ride is set for Halloween weekend Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 27-29.

The “Trick or Treat” event includes a pony/horse ride through the themed-trail complete with stops to collect candy treats. Each ride lasts approximately 15 minutes and requires a prepaid reservation.

Reservations can be made by calling or texting TriCo at (309) 507-8492 or by messaging them on their Facebook page. But spaces are limited. The cost is $25 and cash or local checks are accepted.

Costumes are welcome and riders are encouraged to wear their favorite costumes. Masks and other accessories that pose a safety concern won’t be allowed. All riders will be required to wear a certified riding helmet and closed-toe shoes during the trail ride.

Kids of all ages can ride the spooky trail. Remember to reserve the spot with the rider’s name, age and weight. Anyone new to horseback riding is encouraged to visit the TriCo farm on any Wednesday evening or Thursday evenings at Chautauqua Park between 5 and 7 pm.

The times for the Spooktacular Trail Ride are Friday, from 3 to 5 pm. Saturday from noon until 2 pm and 4-6 pm, and Sunday from 3-5 pm.
