KHS boys, A-W girls win Brockman Relays

The Kewanee High School boys track team won the men’s division in the annual Brockman Invitational track meet at the KHS stadium Tuesday.

On the girls side, Annawan-Wethersfield led the way and Kewanee placed second.

Team standings were: Boys, Kewanee, Erie, Riverdale, Bureau Valley, Stark County, Annawan-Wethersfield and St. Bede.

Girls standings were Annawan-Wethersfield, Kewanee, Erie, Bureau Valley, Riverdale, St. Bede and Stark County.

First-place finishers for the Kewanee boys were Tre Amos in the 200 meters, Jaiden Little in the 110 meter hurdles, Leocadio Gandarilla in the shot put and the discus and Dontaveon Thomas in the high jump and the long jump.

On the girls side, Annawan-Wethersfield’s Kennady Anderson won the 800, 1.600 and 3,200 meters and Kaylee Celus placed first in the 300 meter hurdles; and the 4×400 relay team of Kaylee Celus, Danielle Johnson, Clara Bella VanOpdorp and Kennady Anderson and the 4×800 relay team of Paige Sierens, Ava Landwehr, Camryn Anderson and Danielle Johnson took firsts.

For Kewanee, MaKenna Peed placed first in the 100 and 200 meter wheelchair dashes and the shot put and discus, and Rachel DeRycke won the 100 meter hurdles.
