Kewanee weekend police blotter for Sept. 22-24

Friday:

Steven A. Peed, 34, Kewanee, was arrested following a traffic stop at Third Street and Maple Avenue on a Henry County warrant for failure to appear for resisting a peace officer. He was transported to the Henry County Jail. Ashley A. Merritt, 25, Kewanee, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and improper lane usage. She was given a notice to appear.

A domestic disturbance was reported in the 700 block of George Street.

A building burglary was reported in the 100 block of West Fifth Street.

An animal at large was impounded in the 1000 block of Rockwell Street.

Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 700 block of Tenney Street.

An animal was impounded in the 1000 block of North Grace Avenue.

An animal at large was reported on Odea Street.

A domestic disturbance was reported in the 300 block of Rainbow Way.

Shawn S. Swearingen, 52, Kewanee, was arrested for possession of meth, possession of psilocybin mushrooms, possession of a controlled substance, and operating a vehicle without proof of registration following a traffic stop in the 100 block of West Second Street. He was given notices to appear. Dawn M. Chasteen, 34, Kewanee, was arrested for possession of meth and possession of a controlled substance. She was given a notice to appear.

Francisco Jimenez, 26, Kewanee, was arrested for aggravated domestic battery and interfering with reporting domestic violence following a report of a domestic disturbance in the 500 block of North East Street. He was transported to the Henry County Jail.

Saturday:

Police responded to a report of criminal damage to property in the 600 block of Willow Street.

Police responded to a report of a suspicious person on Beach Street.

An animal at large was reported at Franklin Street and Zang Avenue.

A damage-only traffic accident was reported at East Street and Railroad Avenue.

An animal at large was impounded in the 600 block of Cole Street.

Police responded to a report of disorderly conduct, disturbing another’s peace in the 100 block of North Lakeview Avenue.

An animal at large was reported in the 500 block of Hollis Street.

Police responded to a report of a suspicious person at Chestnut and Prospect streets.

An animal at large was reported at Acorn Street and Dewey Avenue.

Sunday:

Police responded to a report of a disturbance, fights-riots-brawls in the 300 block of East Prospect Street.

Police responded to a report of a disturbance, fights-riots-brawls in the 300 block of Rice Street.

Police responded to a report of disorderly conduct, disturbing another’s peace in the 400 block of North Lakeview Avenue.

A vehicle driven by Robert L. Cook, 81, Kewanee, struck a parked vehicle owned by Ricke E. Kersey, 64, Buda, in a damage- only traffic accident in the 400 block of East Seventh Street. No injuries were reported, and no citations were issued.

Police responded to a report of criminal trespass to residence in the 500 block of Willow Street.

Police responded to a report of animal abuse and neglect in the 200 block of East Oak Street.

Police responded to a report of disorderly conduct, disturbing another’s peace in the 200 block of Community Square.

Glenda S. Miller, 70, Kewanee, struck a pole in the 300 block of North Washington Street. No injuries were reported, and no citations were issued.
