Feet will be flying on Sept. 2, as the 47th annual Hog Day Stampede takes off on Kewanee streets.

A highlight of the annual Hog Capital Festival, the Stampede each year attracts runners of all ages, and those runners can now register online for this year’s race.

Those who register early can save on their entry fee

The entry fee for the four-mile Stampede is $30 for those who sign up by Aug. 21. After that, the fee is $35.

A one-mile run and fitness walk has an entry fee of $15 until Aug. 21, and $20 thereafter.

Registration is free for the quarter-mile kids fun run for youngsters 7 and under.

Runners who register before the end of August receive a T-shirt.

Runners may also enter in groups.

Breedlove gift certificates and plaques will be awarded to first through third placers overall in the four-mile run. Pizza Hut will provide awards for top finishers in various age groups.

Awards will go to the first three male and female finishers in these age groups: 8 and under, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14. Pizza Hut will provide those awards.

While there is no entry fee for the kids fun run, a parent or guardian must fill out and sign an entry form.
