Galva Arts Council is turning old books into holiday décor on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Instructors Deb Booth and Linda Getter will share how to easily transform used books into beautiful mantle or tabletop pieces.
Using a used book, paint, Mod Podge, glue, wire, and an assortment of holiday decorations, participants are guaranteed a fun time and a lovely creation.
“Display it at home, or use it as a gift,” said Booth. “Anyone can create their own masterpiece.”
According to Getter, GAC board president, all supplies are provided for a cost of $20.
“Participants are free to bring a favorite holiday picture or paper,” she said and suggested that those attending dress accordingly. “Crafting is fun, but it can be messy.”
To reserve your spot for the class, email the Arts Council at galvaarts@gmail.com.
The event is sponsored by the Illinois Arts Council, State Bank of Toulon, Country Financial and Sutton and Assoc. Realty.
