A Wyoming man faces a number of drug-related charges following an investigation by a number of area law enforcement agencies.
On Wednesday, the Kewanee Police Department Street Crimes Unit, with assistance from the Black Hawk Area Task Force and the Stark County Sheriff’s Office, concluded a methamphetamine investigation that resulted in the arrest of Scot J. Mincey, 40, of Wyoming.
Mincey was arrested for possession of 5 to 15 grams of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, according to a news release issued Thursday by the Kewanee Police Department. Following the arrest, investigators obtained a search warrant for Mincey’s residence in Wyoming. The warrant was executed, and additional methamphetamine was located, the news release said.
“Mincey was also the subject of additional Kewanee Police Department cases stemming from prior Street Crimes Unit operations, which were referred to the Henry County State’s Attorney’s Office for review,” according to the news release.
Mincey was transported to the Henry County Jail.
On Thursday the Henry County State’s Attorney’s Office filed two charges of delivery of methamphetamine 5 to 15 grams (Class 1 felony), one charge of possession of methamphetamine 5 to 15 grams with intent to deliver (Class 1 felony) and three charges of possession of 5-15 grams of methamphetamine (Class 3 felony).
“Following his initial court appearance, Mincey was released from custody under conditions of the pretrial release,” according to the news release.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 16.
“Additional charges may be forthcoming in Stark County related to the execution of the search warrant at Mincey’s Wyoming residence,” the news release said.
The release concluded: “The Kewanee Police Department would like to thank the Black Hawk Area Task Force, the Stark County Sheriff’s Office, the Henry County State’s Attorney’s Office and the Stark County State’s Attorney’s Office for their assistance with this investigation.”
