
The Kewanee Police Department announced the results of its Memorial Day 2026 “Click It or Ticket” enforcement campaign.
The campaign is aimed at increasing seat belt use and keeping roads safe during one of the busiest travel periods of the year.
“Thanks to the efforts of our officers, more drivers and passengers were reminded of the importance of buckling up,” said Chief Stephen Kijanowski. “Seat belts save lives, and every citation reinforces that important safety message.”
During the campaign, the Kewanee Police Department took the following actions:
-29 seat belt citations issued.
– 1 felony arrest.
– 1 suspended/revoked license actions.
– 11 speeding citations
– 1 drug arrest
– 2 stop sign violations
– 1 stoplight violation
– 2 equipment or registration citations
