Wethersfield High School held its annual Honors Breakfast on Wednesday, May 6. The breakfast recognizes students with strong academics and brings together students, families and staff to celebrate the students’ success.
A total of 84 students were invited, with approximately 300 attendees expected to attend, including the students and their guests.
In order to be invited to the breakfast, all students in ninth-12th grade must maintain a GPA of 4.25 or higher across the first semester of the school year. The breakfast was prepared by the school kitchen staff, and led by cafeteria worker Ladosha Bystry.
The breakfast serves as both a celebration and a recognition ceremony, especially the seniors, with additional acknowledgements taking place during the event.

Several scholarships were awarded to Wethersfield seniors. Also, members of the National Honor Society (NHS) received special recognition for their achievements. One student, Ava Landwehr, was recognized for being the only senior to choose to go into the military.
The Honors Breakfast continues to serve as a tradition that brings together students and families to recognize the students’ hard work, dedication and academic excellence.
