Kewanee Boilermaker Chris Crowe set the school’s fresh/soph high jump record at the Rosenberry Classic March 31 at the Westwood Indoor facility in Sterling.

Crowe cleared 6-foot-7 to break the previous mark of 6-foot-6 set by Steve Kuffel in 1981.

He is now just one inch away from tying the varsity high jump record and less than a foot from breaking the fresh/soph long jump record.

Coach Jeff King said Crowe has put together an outstanding sophomore season, winning both the high jump and long jump in nearly every meet this year. He has already reached the qualifying standards in both events this season, and a strong performance at the Galesburg Sectional in two weeks could earn him a trip to state competition in both events.
