Students from the Wethersfield Elementary School Choir recently traveled to the Quad Cities to attend a day of music and learning with the Quad City Symphony Orchestra.
The trip took place Thursday, March 5, in Davenport, Iowa, where fourth grade students participated in Symphony Day at the Adler Theater. Students were accompanied by elementary choir teacher Hannah Wyrick, fourth grade teacher Kimberly Hampton and fifth grade teacher Amy Bryan.

Before attending the event, students prepared by practicing songs they would perform with the orchestra. These included Come to Play, which students sang alongside the orchestra, and Ode to Joy, which they performed on recorders.
The event was free for participating schools and included students from across the Quad Cities area.
“Overall, we had a great time and look forward to the possibility of future fourth graders getting the chance to go as well,” Wyrick said at the conclusion of the event.
