
Suspects in a vehicle that attempted to elude county law enforcement were transported to area hospitals after they were involved in a vehicular crash Friday morning.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office released a statement about the crash, which took place at approximately 9:11 am Friday in the area of Route 6 and Briar Bluff road.
The incident began when a Henry County Deputy responded to the area of Route 84 and Poppy Garden Road in Colona. The Deputy located a suspect’s vehicle that had reportedly fled from local law enforcement earlier.
When the deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the suspect vehicle fled. During the pursuit, the suspect’s vehicle was involved in a three-car crash. The subjects inside the fleeing vehicle were injured and transported to surrounding hospitals.
The occupants in the other two vehicles were treated on the scene and released. Their vehicles both sustained damage during the crash.
The HCSO isn’t releasing any names or charges, and the investigation into the traffic crash has been turned over to the Illinois State Police.
According to the press statement, more information will be released about the incident at a later date.
