On Jan. 21, the Wethersfield Flying Geese traveled to Midland High School to play the TImberwolves, ending up on the short end of a 72-50 score.
Midland began the game with possession, promptly hustling down the floor and scoring the first points of the game.
With this, the Geese knew they had to fire up, and that they did. Kruz Galbraith gained control over the ball and quickly scored back-to-back layups to tie the game back up.
With continuous effort and teamwork from both teams, Midland managed to take the lead, yet the Geese countered this with a 3-pointer from Kruz Galbraith, assisted by Alejandro Garcia.
With this, the Timber Wolves also acted fast and kept them on their toes, ending the first quarter, 16-15.
In the second quarter the Geese began with the ball, soon after scoring a 3 from Drew Hornback.
Ending the half with a layup from Reese Rumbold, Midland was still able to widen the gap of the score, 38-30.
The second half started with back to back lay ups from both teams. Yet Midland was not going to give their lead up so easily, staying motivated and pushing the ball over and over down the floor.
The Geese tried to push through, keeping a steady momentum and even putting up points from Isaiah Cornish, but the Timberwolves were overly driven to win, ending the game with a final score 50-72.
Previously, the Geese won the JV game.
