On Dec. 27, the Flying Geese played their hearts out in an extreme game against the Milledgeville Missiles.

The Geese began the game with the Missiles’ possession, where the ball was quickly taken by the Geese for Drew Hornback to swish a clean three-pointer. Soon after, Kruz Galbraith scored a two-pointer with an assist from Noah Feltner.

The first period went on with a constant battle of possession and points, ending the period with a 17-14 lead by the Geese.

The Geese stayed on their feet throughout the rest of the half, allowing nine and scoring five, bringing the score to 22-23 with the Missiles in front.

The Geese entered the second half with great drive and momentum. Once the half began, Collin Hodge wasted no time before shooting and making a corner three-point shot to help the Geese rise back to the lead.

Unfortunately, just a few moments later, the scoreboard was tied up with a two-point shot made by the Missiles.

The third period ended with a hard-fought lead of 38-34 for the Geese.

The fourth period is when the game became a truly intense match. Both teams constantly scored and were ahead by only one point throughout the whole period. Every shot had the fans on the edge of their seats.

As the game concluded, the Geese faced a respectable loss by only two points, with the final score being 47-49.

The lead scorers for today’s game were sophomore Alejandro Garcia with 14, junior Galbraith with 10, and senior Hornback with 8.

The JV played a just as intense, exciting game — but they left the court a winner once again, with a final score of 35-29.
