Galva police report for Nov. 17-23

Nov. 17:

Police responded to a theft complaint in the 700 block of NW 4th Street. After investigating, police determined the complaint was unfounded.

Police met with a subject at the Galva Police Department to file a complaint involving deceptive practices and identity theft.

Nov. 18:

Police responded to a domestic disturbance complaint in the 800 block of NW 1st Avenue. It was a verbal disagreement only.

Police responded to a domestic disturbance complaint in the 500 block of NE 3rd Street. It was a verbal disagreement only.

A welfare check was conducted at a residence on SW 4th Street. No contact was made.

Police attempted to assist a citizen suffering from a mental health crisis in the 700 block of NW 4th Street.

Nov. 19:

Police responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint in the 700 block of NW 2nd Street. The officer determined the occupants of the vehicle were visiting a neighbor.

Police responded to a trespassing complaint in the 300 block of Market Street.

Nov. 20:

Police responded to an activated panic alarm in the 1000 block of SE 2nd Street. It was determined to be a false alarm.

Police responded to a scam/identity theft report in the 200 block of NW 1st Avenue.

Police assisted Henry County officers with a disturbance on Hayes Road near 1900 East.

Police responded to a verbal disturbance complaint in the 300 block of SE 7th Avenue.

Police attempted to assist a citizen suffering from a mental health crisis in the 700 block of NW 4th Street.

Nov. 21:

Police were notified about a vehicle repossession taking place in the 100 block of SE 2nd Street.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 call that was plotted in the 400 block of SE 1st Street. It was determined to be a pocket dial.

Police assisted a citizen with a Freedom of Information Act request in the 00 block of NE 6th Street.

Police responded to a car vs deer crash at the Galva-Atkinson blacktop several miles north of town.

Police assisted Knox County officers with a hit-and-run accident that occurred just south of Galva on Route 17.

A welfare check was conducted at a residence on SE 3rd Street.

Nov. 22:

Police assisted a citizen suffering from a mental health crisis in the 700 block of NW 4th Street.

Police responded again to assist a citizen suffering from a mental health crisis in the 700 block of NW 4th Street.

Police met with a subject at the Galva Police Department to register them as a sex offender. The form was completed and emailed to Henry County for LEADS entry.

Police responded to a crossing arm malfunction at the NE 2nd Street railroad tracks. BNSF was contacted for repairs.

Police assisted a citizen suffering from a mental health crisis in the 700 block of NW 4th Street.

Police responded again to assist a citizen suffering from a mental health crisis in the 700 block of NW 4th Street.

Shane Richey, 45, La Porte, Ind., was issued a citation for speeding in the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street.

Nov. 23:

Police met with a resident at the Galva Police Department to answer questions.

Police responded to a loose cat complaint in the 600 block of NW 5th Street.

Police responded to a neglected dog complaint in the 100 block of SE 1st Street.

Police responded to a domestic disturbance involving juveniles in the 700 block of NW 7th Avenue.

Police responded to a report of a fire in the 400 block of NW 2nd Street. The officer advised the resident that it was not a burn day and the fire was extinguished.
