Audiences are in for a heartwarming evening of music and community as Sturtz, the Colorado-based folk group performs at Bishop Hill Creative Commons on Wednesday, Nov. 12.

Sturtz creates music that feels like home. The quartet, Andrew Sturtz – vocals and guitar, Courtlyn Carpenter – cello and harmonies, Will Kuepper – bass, piano and harmonies, and Jim Herlihy – banjo, electric guitar and harmonies. Together they craft songs that live at the intersection of folk, soul and Americana.

Sturtz recently released their second studio album, Hyacinth, in September 2024, a collection that deepens their musical identity while exploring themes of growth, gratitude and change. Their live shows balance delicate musicianship with easy camaraderie — a testament to their genuine friendship and shared sense of purpose.

The evening begins with a potluck dinner and social hour at 6 p.m., followed by the concert at 7 p.m. The event is open to all ages and family-friendly, offering an intimate night of live music in this historic colony.

A $20–$30 suggested donation will be collected at the door, with 100% of proceeds going directly to the performers.
