Geneseo, Ill.–Science, technology, engineering, art and math will roll into the Geneseo Public Library this weekend as STEAM on Wheels brings its traveling classroom of creativity to local students. The event will take place Saturday, Nov. 1, with hands-on projects designed to engage the gears of curiosity and imagination.
“At STEAM on Wheels, our goal is to make learning creative, accessible and fun for every child we meet,” said Samuel McCullum, founder and executive director. “When young people build, create, and problem solve with their own hands, they begin to see themselves as inventors, leaders and innovators.”
The Rock Island–based nonprofit blends science and creativity through 3D printing, robotics and engineering builds. McCullum, who holds degrees in Engineering Technology and Community and Economic Development, leads STEAM on Wheels in its mission to make learning accessible and inspiring—especially for students who might not encounter these opportunities in traditional classrooms. Through outreach, scholarships and mobile programs, the organization shows young people how science and creativity can open doors to the future.
Parents can register their children for the event by calling 309-944-6452.
