Baseball fans and curious minds alike are invited to hear behind-the-scenes stories from the diamond as Geneseo native Tim Pletkovich presents “Confessions of a Baseball Scout” at the Geneseo Public Library on Monday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m.
Pletkovich began evaluating amateur free agents for the Philadelphia Phillies at just 14 years old. By age 21, he joined the Chicago Cubs organization, becoming the youngest paid scout in Major League Baseball at the time, a dream come true for the lifelong baseball enthusiast.
During the program, Pletkovich will share personal anecdotes and insights from his time scouting for the Cubs in the 1980s, offering a rare glimpse into the world of professional baseball talent evaluation.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the Geneseo Public Library at 309-944-6452 or visit geneseo.lib.il.us.
