KHS soccer team gets a win and a loss

Kewanee High School’s soccer team recorded a win and a loss this past week.

On Monday, Kewanee visited Dixon. Coach Jesus Bermudez said it was “a game where Kewanee looked superior but did not finish the plays. The Boilermakers lost 0-2.

On Senior Night there was only a JV game, which Kewanee lost to St. Bede 3-6.

Thursday, Kewanee visited Canton on the last game of the regular season, and won the 3-2.

The first to score was Kewanee’s Alan Saucedo, who passed a defender and was one on one with the goalie. He passed the goalie to score.

The econd goal was scored by Isidro Martinez on a free kick. “Isidro put a big curve and power to the kick that the goalie had no chance to stop,” the coach said.

The winning goal was by Kingston Peterson on a power shot.
