By The Kewanee Voice    October 13, 2025

The Kewanee Public Library is turning 150, and the community is invited to celebrate this remarkable milestone at a special Open House on Sunday, Oct. 26 from 2- 4 p.m. Hosted by the Friends of the Library, the event promises an afternoon filled with music, memories and family-friendly fun.

Guests will be treated to performances by three local choirs: the Community Choir, under the direction of Sue Sagmoen, and the talented ensembles from Kewanee and Wethersfield high schools. The choirs will perform in different locations throughout the library.

Guests can enjoy complimentary refreshments while exploring book timeline displays. Young visitors can get creative with a craft activity designed just for them.

The open house is free and open to the public. For more information, visit the Kewanee Public Library website or Facebook page.
