KHS hosts two cross country meets

Kewanee hosted the 22nd annual Boiler Invite cross country meet at Baker Park Golf Course Saturday.

For the boys, Wethersfield’s Noah Feltner placed seventh in a time of 17:05. Also running for Wethersfield was Cash Verstraete, who was 14th in 17:58.

Hunter Vancil was the first Kewanee finisher, placing 23rd in a time of 18:35.

Kewanee’s Jason Rusk was 43rd in 20:27.

Evan Knoblock of Stark County finished second in the race, with a time of 16:20.

Illinois Valley Central took the team title.

Jendayia Crowe ran seventh in the girls division of the meet.

For the girls, Jendayia Crowe was seventh with a time of 21:29.

Stark County won the girls team division.

Last Tuesday, Kewanee hosted another cross country meet at Baker Park.

The Boilers’ Hunter Vancil was fourth in a time of 17:54; Rusk was 18th in 19:44; and Padilla was 26th in 21:08.

Randal Engels of Galva was 29th in 21:30 and Galva’s Bryant Jeffrey was 32nd in 21:51.

In the girls race, Kewanee’s Jendayia Crowe placed third in a time of 21:28.

Tiffany Helton of Kewanee was 23rd in a time of 34:53.

Other schools competing were ROWVA-Williamsfield, Erie-Prophetstown, Rockridge and Bureau Valley.
