The Kewanee Boilermakers softball team recorded a 4-3 win Monday over the visiting IVC squad.

“Kewanee was in a need of a win after a rough and hard week,” Coach Jesus Bermudez said.

“The home team could not take another loss, so they started pushing and tied the game via Isidro Martinez,” Bermudez said.

The Boilermakers kept pushing; and once again IVC scored taking the lead 2-1.

“At halftime we had our little chat with the team and Kewanee came and tied again with a goal of Alex Barron,” the coach said.

IVC scored again, but then Martinez “did what he knows best, kicked from far and beat the goalie with a beautiful kick,” Bermudez said.
