For those that were hoping to attend the Back Road Musical Festival set for Saturday, but didn’t get tickets purchased, there’s still hope.
The Kewanee Voice is holding a raffle this week, and the prize will be four general admission tickets to the festival.
Tickets for the raffle are $1 each and can be purchased Monday-Thursday, July 28-31, at the downtown office of The Kewanee Voice, located at 121 N. Tremont St. Tickets can also be purchased on Friday, Aug. 1 at the office from 10 a.m. to noon.
If you miss your chance to purchase them at the office this week, there’s another way.
Be sure to attend the Splish, Splash fundraiser Saturday, Aug. 2 at the new splash pad at Liberty Park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase there.
The fundraiser is a partnership between the Voice and the Kewanee Park District and will raise funds for both The Voice and the Jerry Nell Memorial Youth Fund. The Kewanee Voice is a nonprofit news outlet that serves Kewanee and the surrounding area by providing news and information. The Jerry Nell fund assists kids in need to be able to participate in park district programs and activities.
Attendees to the Splish, Splash fundraiser can make a donation of $6 for a grilled hot dog lunch with chips and a cookie or a donation of $9 for a pork patty lunch. Root beer floats will also be offered for just $5. Water will be available for $1.
The drawing for the four tickets to the Back Road Music Festival will be held on Monday, Aug. 4, at noon. The winner will be notified after the drawing.
This year, Alabama will headline the music festival, along with Black Hawk. The Rhinestoners, Jake Rebman & the Waitin’ Rounders and The Stone Cold Cowboys will appear on the side stage.
Gates will open at 2 p.m., and side stage entertainment begins at 2:30 p.m. The main stage begins at 4 p.m.
So be sure to purchase your raffle tickets for a chance to win either at the downtown Voice office or at the Aug. 2 fundraiser!
